/ 02 Why this exists

The traditional recruiter model has two sides.
Novara doesn't.

Most recruitment networks capture all the value and pay none of it back. Contractors do the work. Clients pay the fee. The recruiter pockets the spread. The network that made the placement possible never sees a cent of it.

Novara is structured differently. Anyone in the network can introduce work in either direction — a contractor knows a hiring manager, a hiring manager knows a contractor, a colleague flags someone between projects — and the introducer gets paid when it converts. Not as a marketing gimmick. Built into the founding contract.

Three years of GP share on every client you connect us with. A flat fee on every new contractor you introduce. Notified first on every role, before it reaches the open market. The contractors and clients in your network are worth money — to you, not just to us.

/ 03 What you earn

Three income streams.
From day one.

No pooling. No sharing. Your referral income is yours directly. Paid in full once each placement clears.

Refer a Client 36 months · Net Monthly GP
7.5% of Net Monthly GP. Paid monthly · 36 months. Subject to four qualifying tests and a 6-month lapse rule. USD 2,000 monthly minimum to trigger payment.

Introduce a contact you know personally — through your professional network. One email, Novara copied. You earn 7.5% of Net Monthly GP on every placement made through Novara via that contact for three years from the first qualifying placement.

Worked example — one introduction, over 3 years:
Year 1: 3 contractors × 100 days × USD 120/day Net GP
    × 7.5% = USD 2,700
Year 2: 4 contractors × 100 days × USD 120/day Net GP
    × 7.5% = USD 3,600
Year 3: 5 contractors × 100 days × USD 120/day Net GP
    × 7.5% = USD 4,500

Refer a Contractor Per mobilisation · no cap on referrals
USD 100 per mobilisation. Minimum 20 working days per qualifying placement. Paid within 30 days of cleared fees. New introductions earn USD 100 across the first 6 mobilisations (USD 600 maximum per individual referred).

Know a great offshore professional we haven't worked with? Flag them. When they mobilise through Novara, you earn USD 100 per mobilisation across their first six placements (up to USD 600 per individual). Where Novara specifically asks you to flag someone you've worked with — even if they're already known to us — the same USD 100 per mobilisation applies.

Notified Before Market Every role · Always
Direct notification — email, WhatsApp, or call — before any role goes to the open market. No obligation to engage. No prejudice if you pass.

When a role lands at Novara, the Network is told first. Always. Not a job-board ping, not an alert. A direct line about a specific role we think fits your profile. If you’re available, you’re in. If you’re not, we move on.

Why this matters:
In our experience, the vast majority of offshore roles fill within 48 hours. By the time something hits the open market, it’s already gone. The Network exists so the right people hear about the work before that clock starts.

/ 04 How it works on the ground

Operational mechanics, not marketing promises.

Every Network member gets a monthly statement from Ross personally. Full breakdown: GP earned, deductions applied, fee due (or not), cumulative total, window remaining. Always personal. Never automated.

Fast payment terms Once you've contributed enough to the Network, your own mobilisations are paid on 14-day terms. Twice per 12-month window. Real cash-flow advantage when projects stack up.
Geographic
Active authority, not office location Your referral follows your contact's actual operational authority. If they instruct placements in Malaysia, Aberdeen, and Houston — all three are covered.
No exclusivity
Use any recruiter alongside Novara Network membership doesn't lock you in. Work with other agencies in parallel. The only thing we ask is that introductions to Novara come through Novara.

And there's The Circle.

From Year 3 onward, the most active 10 Network members share an annual discretionary bonus pool equal to 5% of Novara's Net GP — distributed proportionally to leaderboard points earned. Recognition of contribution, paid in cash, on top of everything you've already earned. Build now. Share later.

Top 10 members by annual leaderboard points share a discretionary annual bonus pool equal to 5% of Novara's Annual Net GP (after referral fees deducted). Paid within 90 days of financial year-end, with external accountant certification of the pool calculation available on request. Annual reset — must be re-earned each year. This is a discretionary performance-based bonus pool. Not a profit share. Not an equity interest. Not a right to inspect Novara's books.

/ 05 Who can join

Five requirements. All five.

Network membership is invite-only. There's no self-application route. Every member is in because someone who knows their work vouched for them.

Offshore experience

Five years minimum in subsea, survey, ROV, inspection, offshore engineering, marine operations, cables & offshore wind, or data centre infrastructure.

Vouched introduction

From an existing Network member or directly from Ross. No self-applications. The vouch is the filter.

Full Network profile

Skills, certifications, current availability, day rate range, geographies you'll work. Built together on a call with Ross in Week 1.

Community standards

Professional conduct on placements. Honest about availability. Prompt responses when work comes through. The Network polices its own bar.

Disclosure of conflicts

Members must disclose any commercial, employment, or family relationship with potential referred contacts. Self-referral by client-side hiring managers in respect of their own employer is not permitted. Full conflict rules in the next section.

/ 06 Who can refer whom

We pay fairly. We play straight.

Some referrals don’t qualify — here’s what to know upfront. We’d rather be clear at the start than have an awkward conversation later when a payment doesn’t clear.

You cannot refer

  • Your own employer or any company where you hold a financial interest
  • Your direct line manager or anyone with authority over your engagement
  • A family member or spouse
  • Any company where you hold procurement authority or material commercial influence over the engagement of recruitment services
  • An employer that has paid a Novara invoice in the past 12 months
  • A contractor already in Novara’s active recruitment process — defined as: submitted to a role, or in active two-way contact about a specific role, within the past 90 days
  • A contractor who is themselves already a Novara Network member, or has been within the past 12 months

You can refer

Contractors we already know — provided we haven’t actively engaged them on a live role in the past 90 days. Sitting in our database doesn’t count as “in process.” If we’ve spoken about a specific role in the last quarter, it does.

When in doubt, ask before you introduce. We’ll tell you straight whether it qualifies.

The influence warranty.

On every client referral, members confirm they hold no role, procurement authority, or commercial influence over the referred company’s engagement of recruitment services. Payment is conditional on this remaining true throughout the 36-month referral window. If your relationship with a referred company changes, tell us within 14 days — we’ll pause and discuss.

Why we do this: we pay fairly because we play straight. Referral fees are for genuine connectors, not insiders.

First in time wins.

If two members refer the same contact, the first registered referral takes priority. Always register before you introduce — one WhatsApp to Ross is enough to lock your claim.

/ 07 How we pay

Gross payments. Clear admin.

Payments
Made gross. Members are responsible for their own tax obligations in their country of residence.
Withholding
Where legally required only. Novara may withhold tax where local law requires it — we’ll tell you in advance, with the basis for it.
Currency
USD by default. Bank transfer or other agreed method. Alternative currencies on request, FX rates published monthly.
Statement
Monthly from Ross. Net GP, deductions, cumulative total, window remaining. Whether there’s a payment due or not.
/ 08 After you join

From signed agreement to first statement — one month.

Day 1
Agreement signed. Network notifications active. Founding Network status continues for the lifetime of the programme — whether the rest of the seats fill quickly or slowly.
Week 1
Call with Ross. Profile built together. Skills mapped, availability noted, geographies confirmed. Added to the Network WhatsApp community.
Month end
First personal statement from Ross. Then every month after. Always. Whether there's payment due or not.
Ongoing
Notified first on every role. Always. Direct line on every role we think fits your profile, before it reaches the open market. All disciplines, all geographies. No obligation to engage.
Year 3+
Circle assessment. Most active 10 members share 5% of net GP annually. Earned through contribution — not application.

/ Member Agreement Summary · Terms apply

Terms apply. Membership is subject to qualifying criteria and the Novara Network & Circle Member Agreement (the binding contract). Referral fees are paid on Net GP, calculated as gross GP minus Professional Indemnity insurance and invoice financing costs. The minimum monthly threshold of USD 2,000 Net GP applies. Client referrals are subject to qualifying tests, conflict exclusions, and an influence warranty. Referrals lapse if no qualifying placement is made within 6 months of introduction. Each Novara entity contracts with members in respect of placements it has itself invoiced; no joint or several liability arises between the entities. Issued by Novara Search Pte Ltd (Singapore Co.
